Note to all pantsers

The pants are leaving Phoenix and heading to Peoria. When they arrive at your location, you will need to acquire some fabric pens for decoration. We have run out of supples, and these tough economic times preclude us buying more. I'm sure you can understand. Joann's has fabric markers for under 10 dollars.
Happy Pantsing,

Phyllis

Desert Broom

From the nice folks at Desert Broom:

The Traveling Pants finally arrived at Desert Broom library! Our teens used a combination of paint, glitter, beads, yarn and embroidery thread. Our patch is truly representative of the term mixed-media and our teens :)

The Pants Visit Acacia Branch

On Friday, November 21, at Acacia Library, twelve (12) teens gathered
together to decorate a square on the Arizona Traveling Pants and craft
purses and wallets out of jeans. While the teens displayed their
artistic talents they viewed "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants II" on
the bigscreen TV. Teens were proud to have their handiwork displayed
in Teen Hill, the designated teen area.

Where, oh where are the pants?

That is the questions on everyone's tongue. The pants have just spent some time in Tempe, and have been delivered to Scottsdale. We'll try and get some pictures from the folks at Tempe Public.

The pants are heading to Tempe!

The pants have spent time in Mesa and in Apache Junction. Apparently, the teens in AJ were very enthusiastic about the decorating. The pants should be in Tempe in the next day or so.

The Pants Arrive in Mesa!

The pants left Chandler and began their Statewide journey with a visit to the Mesa Main Library. They were met by the Teen Advisory Group who had a great time decorating them. Next stop, Mesa Red Mountain Branch.

"The Jeans" Visit Chandler's Basha Library

We had tons of fun making coin purses and scarfs, we even had one teen make a cuff lined with bedazzled decorations! Basha library teens wanted to continue making jean crafts like jean purses (just cut the legs off and stitch up the bottom). We also had jean shaped cookies that flew off the rack :)
